To all teachers based in Leeds, West Yorkshire (or those close enough in proximity):-

    Reading with School Pupils

The City of Leeds School needs
    YOU !

A message from Georgie Sale, Head of the City of Leeds School, Hyde Park:

We have a small secondary school here with the vast majority of children having English as a second language. Many of them have been in the country less than 4 years and many of them arrive at the school illiterate in their own language. Over 70 languages and dialects are used amongst the children at City of Leeds School.

We desperately need help from people able to come into school and do one-to-one reading with individual children. You would be trained up and could spend as much or as little time as you can ( minimum one hour). The main thing would be that you can commit to a regular slot during term times. It makes our children uneasy if they have changing faces.

Do you think you could help?

Please contact us at the City of Leeds School on 0113 336 8307.

    THANK YOU
