The Refugees into Teaching mentoring scheme ran from January 2010 to October 2011. It provided one-to-one support for teachers from a refugee background to help them access teaching courses and jobs in this country.

Fitsum's and Alan's story
Fitsum was a headteacher in Eritrea and is currently volunteering as a classroom assistant in the UK. Through Refugees into Teaching, he was assigned Alun as a mentor to help him in his journey to retrain as a teacher.
